We are also looking for volunteers to find partner organizations, grants, or other financial sources. The next projects will be shoreline stabilization and site work.

Our fundraising goals are a three-step process: 

1. With a vision shared by the landowners and a few dedicated residents of Bath, the project was begun in 2024. The landowners wished to keep the property without development, and the initial purchase of land was made with a reduced purchase price of $700,000 from what was estimated as a commercial price of $1.5 million. The development considered for this one-acre parcel was four separate dwellings. The leaders of this community initiative created a non-profit organization with a board of directors and secured local donations to make a down payment of $400,000. A mortgage agreement to pay the remaining $300,000 by November of 2027 was established.

2. As a few projects are started to be able to get into the meadow and see the vision first hand, the second phase to raise $300,000 by November of 2027 is paramount to pay off the mortgage.

3. The final stage of shore stabilization and meadow construction is the next step to be considered. This is a substantial goal because of the machinery and specialized work that will need to be done. Stringent regulations for the safety of the public and the ecology of the river will be followed to ensure a successful future for the meadow.
