Projects

A garden is never done, but here’s some work that has been going on and more that we need help with!

The Annual De-vining of the Fence

Every year, we will gather at the meadow in the fall to remove the vines and overgrowth from the Front Street fence. We started this year with lots of willing volunteers with gloves and clippers to attack what was a screen of foliage! Even after a few weeks have gone by, it needs another trimming.

A pathway welcomes us in.

Our designer has created a beautiful line of paths to enjoy the view and experience the meadow in different areas. A meadow must be mowed every year, but for now, we have strolling places to see the plants and view the river.

Rustic seats allow you to sit and stay awhile.

With 22 donated stumps that are aged out of the “sticky sap” faze, we now have seating in many places on the meadow. There is seating right at the entrance for those with mobility issues or groups and pairings of stumps along the path.

Fundraising

With an amazing beginning from the non-profit board and $400,000 from local donors, the Meadow is well underway to benefit the city of Bath and the surrounding community. A remaining $300,000 is needed to pay off the loan for the land by November 2027. Volunteers are needed to find partner organizations, grants, or other financial sources. The next projects will be shoreline stabilization and site work.

Join us in ‘casting the seed’ as we create the meadow by the river - people and nature thrive together.
